The Pirates Chest is a gift shop in Ocracoke NC that suffered from an electrical fire. Ocracoke is a remote island located off the coast of NC and can only be reached by boat or ferry. Despite extreme travel disadvantages SERVPRO was up for the challenge. Our crews successfully traveled and transported equipment to the island despite the 5 hour, one way commute.

The fire and the thousands of gallons of water use to put the fire out caused damage to multiple areas of the building.

This project required complete replacement of all exterior siding, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems along with removal of all insulation and drywall. The owner also requested significant renovation to the existing structure including the relocation of a large stairway, removal of the entire roof truss system, relocation of windows, and raising the second-floor walls 2 feet. These changes increase the showroom area by over 25%.
